Cara, a Regional Manager for Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa County, is responsible for oversight of all long-term care facilities within the Western Contra Costa Region. She serves as the primary field facilitator and mediator between residents, long-term care facilities, and state licensing agencies for all care related issues. Her territory includes a diverse collection of senior and other long-term care facilities through the county. In her role as regional manager, Cara helps to ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of all long-term care residents within her district. Prior to her current role at OSCC, Cara spent over eight years with Computer Technologies Program, a non-profit in Berkeley which specializes in providing employment and training services for people with disabilities. At this organization, she wore several hats including Student Services Coordinator, Admissions Counselor, and Course Instructor. During this time Ms. Sperry was a tireless advocate for persons with disabilities providing education, mentoring, and counseling services to thousands in Alameda County. Ms. Sperry holds both a Liberal Arts Degree from Bowling Green University, Ohio and is a UC Berkeley Certified Health Advocate.
