Products in senior care promoted at industry trade shows

Products in the elderly care sector, such as physiotherapy robots, were promoted at an industry fair in Shanghai.
China’s population has recently begun to show a gradual decline,
leading to concerns about labor shortages and the need to develop elderly care systems.
A visitor to the fair saw an automatic stair-climbing machine and a device that transfers a person from a bed to a wheelchair,
and said that these smart products would be of great help to the elderly.

Smart products can reduce the workload of senior care workers

At the booth of Innopro, a technology company whose main customers are nursing homes and local governments,
they showed temperature monitors and smartwatches,
which will allow busy workers to keep track of the elderly’s condition.
In addition, nursing homes have to check the condition of the elderly every night,
and smart products will reduce their workload,
and smart products can provide detailed information such as sleep patterns, so they can understand the health of the elderly.

Robotic products that allow seniors to live without assistance

A senior citizen restaurant uses a chip that identifies the food served and analyzes the nutrient balance and calorie count at checkout.
A booth by students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University of Transportation showed a robotic arm that can help the elderly with daily activities such as turning door knobs and eating.
The use of smart technology will help solve the challenges of caring for the elderly,
allowing them to live independently without the need for assistance.
