Developing new systems for older adults

Older adults suffer from issues like fecal and urinary incontinence. This is a big problem because if left untreated, it can lead to dermatitis. Caregivers have to constantly check on them, but it’s very laborious, and in facilities with few staff, it’s virtually impossible to do so. However, a team of Thai researchers has developed a new system that could solve this problem. Smart sensors detect changes in humidity to check for incontinence, and if the system itself determines that there is a problem, it alerts the caregiver so that the problem can be resolved quickly.

New mobile app for seniors has a lot to offer

In addition to sending alerts, there is also a mobile app to monitor the health of the elderly and the ability for patients and caregivers to communicate online. The monitored health of the elderly is stored in the cloud and can be viewed, allowing doctors and nurses to see the elderly’s condition in detail and provide appropriate treatment. This eliminates skin problems caused by fecal and urinary incontinence, and patients can quickly call a caregiver for help online. This amazing system is not only beneficial for the elderly, but for the health of patients as a whole.

Florida Adopts New Senior Care Technology

We’re bringing new eldercare technology to our Eldercare Center in Naples, Florida, which includes a community app and wireless headphones. The technology allows seniors to view and register for upcoming events and order food from the menu. People often assume that seniors won’t be able to use smart devices, but the seniors were curious and eager to learn when the technology was first introduced. This technology has improved the quality of life for the residents and pushed for more technology adoption.
